This Christmas, over 8,500 people will be without a home to call their own. Almost half will be young people aged 24 or younger.
Helping a young person ‘Turn the Key’ on a new home can transform lives and open doors to new opportunities. A new home often means the first step on a journey to education, training and a job, especially when they receive the professional wraparound supports from Peter McVerry Trust staff.

“I was quite broken, I was homeless for years. We’ve had the support of Peter McVerry Trust and the staff the whole way through…it inspired us to get our lives together. That simple little thing, a place to call home” – Colm
Tens of thousands of houses currently lie empty across the country. Peter McVerry Trust want to bring vacant properties back in to use as homes, helping young people like Colm and Dean leave homelessness behind. Our Housing with Supports team will support people for as long as they need it, ensuring that they can sustain their tenancy, connect with their community, engage with training programmes and education services, helping them turn the key on homelessness for good.
This year we are delighted to offer Donor Packages to those who can support us this Christmas.
