Peter McVerry Trust set to commence work on youth cafe project
Peter McVerry Trust has appointed M&P Construction as the main contractor for the development of it’s youth cafe in Dublin 7. Work on the project will start imminently.
The project will see the development of the first youth café for young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and help meet a key need identified by the many young people accessing Peter McVerry Trust’s services.
The capital development phase of the project is financed by Department of Children and Youth Affairs and Clongowes Union. The project has been designed by architect Colm Redmond of architects Fitzgerald Kavanagh and Partners.
Clongowes Union will also be supporting the operation of the Youth Cafe and provide volunteers from the union to support Peter McVerry Trust staff in delivery of the service. The youth cafe will operate evening and weekend hours in order to provide a safe and supportive space available outside traditional day service hours.
