Here at Peter McVerry Trust, we are delighted to be selected as charity partner for Huddle Dublin 2016.
As the homelessness and housing situation continues to worsen, 6,600 people are now homeless in Ireland. The need for long term solutions to homelessness has never been so crucial.
As sporting and fitness enthusiasts, you will no doubt understand the importance of a positive environment in which to work, rest and play. At Peter McVerry Trust, we focus on providing safe, supportive environments to people in homelessness. Through the ‘Housing First’ initiative, we placed 171 people in their own homes last year.
If you are able to support us by making a donation, you can help us give people keys to their own homes, moving people out of homelessness.
“Without suitable housing it is difficult, if not impossible, to access other human rights such as the right to work or education.” Fr. Peter McVerry
We also run a host of events and challenges each year, which help raise vital funds to maintain our services. If you would like to run, trek or cycle with Peter McVerry Trust, please check out the range of events that are available here.
