Christopher became homeless atthe age of 11, but is now living in an apartment with help from Peter McVerry Trust.
He moved into his new home in August, after living in supported temporary accommodation. He now plans on attending college to become a social worker.
Christopher describes the moment he heard the news that he would be getting his own house in this video.
“It was like getting a phone call from the National Lottery. I was like a man mad, jumping up and down, like as if I was told I was after winning €10m euro.
“The fact that I have this place now, it’s a blessing. People who have had everything all their life don’t appreciate the smaller things in life, and I do. I appreciate that I have a roof over my head.”
